Crafty.

Lately I've been crafty. I made a leather clutch the other day but it's not finished so you don't get to see it. I made these earrings last night. Let me know what you think!

Letter to Grandpa P.

Monday, April 27, 2009

It's 3:22 am. I'm wide awake which is so strange. I never stay up this late without being groggy during it. I was chatting with a friend about who my role model is, and my thoughts turned to my grandpa. My mom's dad. This letter is for him.

Dear Grandpa P.,
I don't know if you ever knew this but I think of you as my dad also. There's always been something very powerful but not menacing in your presence. When I look back on my life, you're there the whole time, when others weren't. You were there when my dad wasn't, and my step dad hadn't entered the picture yet. You've always shown you were serious about rules, and morals, without being angry. You approach everything with love, even the dishes after Sunday dinners. I have always loved your voice. Something powerful in it. I think that's why I love Thomas S. Monson's voice, you have similarities in your sound.
I'm thankful to have had someone like you to show me what to look for in a guy. You are funny, loving, and always have integrity. You don't embarrass yourself with things you can't take back. You are a loving father and husband, and a wonderful grandfather. When you speak about your beliefs, there is so much conviction in your words that I believe them too. I'm so thankful to have had the chance to have someone like you in my life. You've been such a big part of my life that I don't know what I'll ever do without you. I've always wanted to make you proud of me, and hope that I have. I love you!

Love,

Your first granddaughter.

My friend Jordan and I have been photographing off and on this year. The trade off is he's teaching me how to use his camera and I have to be in his pictures. Haha! Some of his stuff is so great I wanted to show him off! I've also included some of my amateur attempts. Enjoy!

Indecisive.

Saturday, April 18, 2009

The theme of my life lately is indecision. I have no idea when or where I want to go to grad school. I have no idea where I want to live after July. I have no idea whether I want to do a student loan for my last semester or try to scrape by for the next 3 months since I am having a hard time getting hired. I never have a hard time getting hired either so that's a little disenchanting. I have no idea if I should wear my black shirt with the white vest, or my white shirt with the black vest. (I think you get the point!) I have a lot of decisions to make in the next couple of months. Please forgive me for not writing much lately and just posting music videos. I've been extra busy getting ready for finals with 6 classes!

Other than that things are the norm around here. The weather says it's supposed to be 70 and sunny most of next week. I'm very happy about that! My skin might be so white it's turning see-through!

On another great note, I just picked up my tickets for my family to come to my graduation. I'm pretty excited. I can't believe it's here in 2 weeks. I know it's not REAL since I have school til June. But seriously, it's here! I'm so excited and can't stop feeling great when I think about it!

Oh also, the whether decided to be indecisive too.

One last thing. I went to the Hare Krishna temple celebration for the Festival of Colors at the end of march. Here is a lovely picture representing the reason why if you see me, there's still a swatch of pink in my hair. No, I'm not reverting to my skater girl days (although I still can if you guys miss her!) I just can't get the pink out!

Furr, by Blitzen Trapper

Saturday, April 11, 2009

I found this song the other day and for some reason it's simpleness makes me want to never turn it off. It's called Furr, by Blitzen Trapper. Something about it also makes me want to drive through the country with it cranked up as loud as possible. It also reminds me of the movie Into the Wild. I just recently watched this and loved the freedom the movie makes you feel. Something I currently have been craving since I've been cooped up in Orem for 7 years. I graduate June 24. Then I may go Into the Wild... or somewhere else besides Orem.

Living of Love, Avett Brothers

I love this song so much. My neighbor/friend showed me this band last summer. I have loved this song ever since. They are quite talented, and the banjo makes for a more interesting sound. Enjoy.
