A perfect day.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Sunday March 16th - A perfect day. Here's why.

Started the day with a homemade breakfast by my mother-in-law. Went on a two-mile walk with Justin and two of his siblings through the hills behind his parents' house. Went to the park with my brothers, their kids, and my parents. Got my mom out in the sunshine, got her to exercise a little bit, and had a blast with my family. We all needed the fresh air. Spring always makes me feel alive again. This day is one that will stay in my memory forever. I love this woman with all of my heart. She is a champion.

Miracles.

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Above all what makes me smile the most right now is how Justin makes my mom giggle and laugh. She is in a lot of pain. She is miserable. And then he'll crack her up and the laughter heals her brain for a little bit.

We were visiting her at my grandparents' house last Thursday after one of her treatments. When she is tired, she has a really hard time with word recall and loses her train of thought very quickly. She will mix up names, and terms like "we", "you", etc. She was struggling at trying to tell me something and got pretty frustrated. It always breaks my heart. I wish I could fix it. I hate seeing her in any pain whatsoever.

Justin made her laugh about something dumb we were joking about. Then I started venting about how we were sick of cars since our transmission failed and is STILL NOT FIXED. I mentioned we'd get one of those carts that are pulled by a human, and we'll take turns pulling each other to work. When I said, "What are those called again?", she immediately said, "a rickshaw." As if she had never been struggling with her thoughts at all.

Miracles, people. Rickhaw is a really hard word. Most people don't even know it. But then, she is incredible with words, and the tumor and scar tissue can't even keep her down. I get stuck on a hard word, and my genius of a mom, a regular thesaurus, chimes in.

Laughter really is healing. I'm so grateful that she and Justin like each other so much. He really is great at making her laugh. We spent the weekend with her getting her to laugh and smile. I couldn't imagine a more perfect weekend right now. It is exactly how I wanted to spend my time.

Oh and during that we watched my friend's brother get a bronze medal in the olympic bob-sledding!

Miracles, people. Miracles!

I love my mom. I am incredibly lucky that I still get to spend time with her, and have her be able to talk to me, and still get to see her face. Brain cancer may be a jerk and may be beating the crap out of her, but my mom is a fighter.

The details, guys.

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Justin and I have spent some time really making our house feel like a sanctuary from the world. For us that involves positive attitudes, incessant laughter, love and a lot of really great items that remind us of all the things we find beautiful... and surrounding ourselves with all of that.

Here's a photo roll of some of the little details that really make a difference in it not being just another place, but our very own home.

And how could it feel like a real home to me, without a pet or two?

My dream came true.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Guys.

My dream came true last week.

There are no words to perfectly describe my elation at finally owning a real, acoustic, upright piano.

Thought provocations.

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

I like to spend time on the TED.com website every now and then. I chose to watch videos under the "courageous" section tonight and I found this.

I felt like sharing this because I have friends and family who are, or have been, in a relationship like this. Maybe not as violent, maybe more violent. I feel it is a very important subject that should never be taboo.

So... Why do women stay?

I have never been physically abused by a person who I was dating or related to. But, I have been emotionally abused. I used to say, "I would never stay if I was treated like that." But the truth is... I was, and the truth is, I stayed for 2 years. I have friends and family who have been physically beaten by the person that swore to love them.  I may have friends who are too wrapped up in "crazy love" to realize what is happening to them yet, or some that can't tell anyone yet but ache to be relieved of this burden.

One of my friends opened up to me a while ago about their violent marriage, and aside from being shocked because I knew them both fairly well, I felt like a terrible friend for never seeing any signs and helping them earlier. The truth is, this is more common than some of us think. And friends, if you need to talk to someone, you can talk to me. I will not judge you, or think you are weak. But I will listen and try to help you get out.

I, thankfully, got out and found that I was worthy of kind, good, loving men. My husband is strong, and can fight a good fight with the best of them, but he would NEVER abuse me in any way. I am so grateful to know that he is my protector, and that I am safe with him emotionally and physically. I hope that we can all find that.

Nobody deserves to be battered.

Family

Thursday, August 22, 2013

It has been a while... AGAIN. What a busy month this has been! I am stockpiling photos of our new house so when I finally get a moment to upload them and do a massive "we finally moved in" post I promise you'll get to see it all! Unfortunately, that is not the case today.

Today I was fortunate enough to attend the funeral of a man I didn't know very well, but this man was my grandpa. All I knew of him was that he was a hard working cattle rancher and that he thought the world of my mother (most people do).  He is married to a woman that is unlike no other, and that is my Granny Franny. You will find no kinder woman on this planet than Fran. I am so lucky to be her granddaughter.

As I sat at this funeral, I felt out of place. I felt like it almost wasn't my family. You see, it's the side of my family that doesn't socialize. My dad's side of my family never gets together... and by never I mean this is the first time in my 29 years of life that I have been in the same room as all of my relatives on that side of my family. And if history is any indicator of how things will go in the future, it is probably also the last.

Grandpa Ira
My mom would take us to see my grandparents every Christmas so I spent a lot of time with them in my life. However, my Grandpa Ira wasn't home a lot of the time when we went. He was a very busy cattle rancher, and a successful one at that! Also, most of the relatives were never around when I visited, and because my parents were divorced by the time I was two years old, I never really spent any time at all with my cousins. Up until a month or so ago I wouldn't have even been able to point out a single one of them in a crowd.

Ever since my mom's diagnosis of brain cancer back in March, I have been thinking a lot about what really matters in this life and that is my family and friendships. I decided to search out some of my cousins... really the only ones I knew of. And I found 3 of them on Facebook as well as their dad. It was nice to form some sort of connection to that side of my genetics. Earlier this year I was disappointed to find that the entire side of my paternal ancestry charts are empty, but records have been done for my mother's side and are completely filled out back about 9 to 12 generations. I started digging to find people, and was barely able to find a single person past my dad.

As I sat at this funeral for my dad's stepfather who had been around practically his entire life, I wondered what I'd missed out on by not being a regular participant of this side of my relatives' lives. As people got up and spoke their remarks about what a great man, father, grandfather he was, I felt a little shafted. I didn't get to know him. Part of that is my fault since I've been an adult for 10 years and could've made more of an effort. One of my cousins got up and gave a beautiful poetic tribute to his life as one of the last remaining cowboys in the west. I only knew she was my cousin because it said so in the program.

It's such a polar opposite of what happens in the other sides of my family. My stepdad's and mom's sides know me well, and I'm an active part of those family relationships. We have regular family reunions and see each other often. I hope that one day when I have a family, I'm able to do what needs to be done to make sure my posterity know each other and know where they came from and are proud of it.

It's funny that some people only have a few cousins and they are like siblings with each other, and then I have upwards of 60-70 cousins and half of them I have never met. It's pretty sad that families can break apart and never come back together. I hope nothing like that happens to the rest of my family, or to my future family. It is so sad that we are walking this Earth and know nothing about the people that we share genetics with.

I vow right now to never let that happen to my kids.

My grandpa's obituary is HERE.

Life is good, in our new 'hood

So... I know I kept saying I would let you all know what's been keeping me so busy the past few weeks. Well, here it is!

(Drumroll, please.)

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! YEAH!

I had posted earlier this year about houses we were offering on and I just got sick of having to tell people we walked away from the house or we didn't get our offer accepted. So I kept my lips sealed about this one (except to my mom and girlfriends, of course). I'm happy to say as of August 1 we own this beauty. It's been a crazy week between one of the busiest weeks I've had at my job, trying to close on the home, Justin having his drill weekend, packing things and moving things, I am sufficiently sore and tired.

BUT SO HAPPY.

So far all we've set up is our kitchen, and half of the master bedroom, and half of one of the bathrooms. I plan to spend most of today slowly unpacking the rest of our bedroom stuff, and going back to our rental to do my laundry. I just love having a space that is all ours and with room to stretch our legs. Last night we raided Home Depot for a few things like new shower heads and paint testers. I am so excited to paint. You'll see why when you look at the pictures below.

Once we get the whole house set up, I'll take pictures of the place. But, I regret to inform you it will take a month or so to get it all setup. We have a very busy month ahead of us!

Enjoy the pictures below! It's a photo dump of some of my week on Instagram. (Sorry, if you follow me on Instagram, these will not be new to you.)

Our new front porch. This was right after we got our keys. We just went
in, checked out the whole house and laid on the living room floor,
chatting about all our dreams for the place. One of the funnest days of our
marriage so far.
Our spare bedrooms. The previous owners had little girls. We will be
painting over these delightful colors ASAP.

The only organized thing in our kitchen as of yesterday
morning. Luckily last night I fixed that. Having a
working kitchen is definitely making this drawn out move
feel better today.

One of many car loads. When I lived with roommates it only took one day
and 1.5 car loads to move all my stuff. This is definitely a bigger job.
We also have only had a tiny bit of time everyday to actually move
our stuff. I will be so excited when we are all settled in!

July Festivities.

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

This is the only photo we took of us on our engagement anniversary date.
We're lame photographers.
Well, I've been inactive on this blog for most of this month. It's been a busy few weeks! We spent the Independence Day holiday weekend with both of our families, and had a blast. That week we hit up the small town parade where my parents live, watched the firework show on the runway of the Cedar City airport, went to Brian Head to an arts festival (and got a really awesome cheap print of a Navajo painter's work), made a couple special trips to Brad's to get taquitos with cheese (if you've never had taquitos in Southern Utah, you are missing out!), rode the ski lifts up to the top of the mountains to cool off from the 100 degree weather, spent a day at a cabin, and finished the weekend with Sunday dinner at my parents' house. All in all a great Independence week celebration!

I have been so busy with work that I haven't had a chance to post much. I worked days and nights all last week trying to do some international work for our office. It's pretty exciting branching out to places we've never been. I am happy to add work like that to my ever-growing resume even if I pretty much wore myself out getting it all done!

The week before, we celebrated our 1 year anniversary from getting engaged. I am so happy I married this guy. Thanks for proposing on a Friday the 13th! Some would say that means we'll have bad luck, I just say, it's up to us to make our own good luck!

To celebrate this monumental occasion in our lives, we redid our engagement date except one part of it. We hit up Barnes and Noble where we first met on our first date, bought books, and ate at the same restaurant. The only thing we didn't redo was the Thanksgiving Point gardens. It was raining hard, just like it was when we got engaged.

I have some really exciting news I want to share (it's part of the reason I've been avoiding my blog), but you all just have to wait another week until it's a for sure thing and I can talk about it. Until then, enjoy these pictures from our fun Independence holiday week. It was so nice having a 5 day weekend!

One more thing... My mom had another clean MRI! I am so grateful for miracles. She has worked very hard through all her treatments and is being rewarded for it. I couldn't be any happier right now about this! I swear this is a great month we're in so far. I'm just full of great news and fun things happening.

Whew! I think I covered everything I wanted to write about!

A 9 year old's Christmas.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Happy first week of Summer! These super long days are my favorite. It isn't dark until 9:30 pm around here.  Isn't it the best time of year?

Since we're halfway to Christmas, I thought I'd celebrate by letting you read a story I wrote when I was 9. I was in 4th grade and we had to write a Christmas story, and then our teacher would compile them into a class book.

At this point in my life I was obviously deep into my crack addiction. You'll see just how bad it was after reading the story.  I was always one of the smarter kids in my classes, how on earth is THIS the story I wrote?

 What the???

Happy times, my friends.

Sunday, June 16, 2013

So, good things are happening. Justin got home from Military duty, which means I no longer have to sleep with all the lights on in the house, a hammer and pepper spray on my nightstand, and I no longer hear the noises our neighbors make when walking through their house (which sounds like they're walking through MY HOUSE... not fun).

My mom keeps getting healthier! Her followup MRI was last week the day before her birthday, and we were all praying it was a good birthday present...

AND IT WAS!!!!! BRAIN SCAN WAS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

At a family get together right before her birthday.
She looks so beautiful and healthy!
Can I get like 5,000 hallelujah shouts from you guys for this? Now we can all breathe for half the summer until her next one. She is seriously a fighter. I am grateful everyday that she is my mother, and that for her 58th birthday she was given great news! Now she can enjoy her summer, even with a little chemo now and then, and continue to get stronger. She's eating more and more solid food, and using the feeding tube less and less. She even managed to do some housework yesterday. It wasn't easy but it was possible. BIG STEPS people, these big steps are awesome!

You know my post on faith from 2 weeks ago? I can assure you I am still learning what faith can do. I don't know if my prayers were the healing magic for her. I just know that faith is necessary for our survival as people. How on earth would we get through tragedy if we didn't have faith that WE would be ok in the end? Seeing my mom's unwavering faith through this whole mess, and through her whole life has proved to me that we must have faith, there is no other option that will help us.

Thank you for all your help for our family. People are feeding my stepdad and my younger siblings that are at home almost everyday. Our neighbor has taken over the yard work for my parents. My mom usually had an amazing garden and took care of the yard as her hobby, and our kind neighbors have taken over this duty, voluntarily.

Everyone helped me make a "Why Mary is awesome" book for her birthday. She told me yesterday she has read, and reread the book several times and just loves it. So thank you for helping me make that possible for her.

I am grateful right now, for the relief from the stress that has come. For the past 3 months we've all been on edge wondering what would happen. And now I feel sweet relief from the worry. Even if the hard times will come again, I am thankful for this calm time now.

It allows me to stop and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the birds in the trees out my window, the purring of my over-cuddly cat next to me, and the sunshine shining in from my bedroom window onto my bed.

Such a lovely morning.

Funny thing about relationships...

Saturday, June 15, 2013

So, I've heard a billion times that marriage is rough because of the ability to miscommunicate or do or say the wrong thing.

Honestly, I thought everyone just needed to try harder (before I got married). Now I realize there are 2 sides to every story. Watch this video, then proceed.

Sometimes, I feel sorry for men because they have to marry women, and we are bonkers crazy. But I also feel sorry for women because we have to marry men, and we can't go to them like we can our girlfriends. If you go to a guy, you need to know they'll just give you a solution, and women are the queens of not needing a solution, just needing to get their feelings out so they can move on from emotional outburst land.

Case in point - I vented to a guy I was dating once about a girl I was friends with that was being a royal pain in the butt... his response was "So stop hanging out with her." My expected response from him was, "WHAT A B-WORD HOW DARE SHE SAY THAT ABOUT YOU!" So naturally, he and I got in a fight...because who cares if he's right, RIGHT? It's hard to remember though when I talk to Justin about things that he is rarely ever going to say, "I'm sorry that must be hard for you." His usual response is, "Want me to punch them out for you?"(Solution oriented.)

Although, in this particular Youtube example, I can't think of one of my girlfriends who wouldn't be like, "Yeah that must be really painful and annoying, day in and day out, with those headaches. But here, let me pull out that nail and it should go away. There all better, let's get some ice cream and do our nails. Also you're hotter than any other girls, and you have better style, and are funnier." (Validation of my feelings first, solution next, followed by a pick me up activity and a major compliment fest to finish the deal.) Yeah, it takes a lot of work, and women just naturally know how to do this.

So I guess the moral of the story is, girls need girlfriends so they can vent properly, and guys need to fix things. It's just the way we all are.

The other moral of the story is, women are, in fact, crazy. And I live in Womanland, so I know... but guys wouldn't be alive if we weren't here, so I'm sorry guys, you have to deal with us.

The End.

What a week!

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Well, for those of you looking for an update on my mom, I have excellent news!

SHE IS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!

Huntsman Cancer Center really knows how to take care of people. After 10 days in hospitals (and only 2 at the Huntsman center) she has been released and is slowly getting stronger with the help of home health nurses.

Thank you for all of your prayers, positive thoughts, and help. There are so many people who helped and spent time with my mom while she was there and during all of this crazy cancer stuff. You are angels that live on Earth and you have done so much for my mom and our family. I am so grateful for you.

If you are able, please continue your prayers and positive thoughts! She still has a long road to recovery back to normal but she is out of the woods for now.

I love simple victories in life!!! I am happy.

And exhausted.

This is my recuperate-from-stress weekend. I might work on my chair that I'm fixing up, or I might just lie here like a zombie and watch tv until my body decides it has recovered. The possibilities are endless!

Oh and today I bought this cute little succulent garden in a pot! It looks good with my paintings doesn't it? (Don't mind the long overdue need to dust. Dusting is not my hobby.)

Cool.

Sunday, February 3, 2013

Hey guys, it's me again. You know what's fun? Well, lots of things, but one thing in particular is that my husband today called me "a hard 10". He told me I'm the whole package. I think I shall carry this sweet little compliment around with me for days, maybe even weeks! Who am I kidding, it's a phenomenal compliment! If he were in an olympic competition for complimenting people, I'd give him the world record!

I'm definitely a words of affirmation type of person, and compliments like this really hang with me. Isn't that awesome? I'd say I'm the luckiest girl on the planet.

What a babe. I'm a lucky girl.

We don't have to be pretty.

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Hey everyone... I sometimes contribute to the Embodyed blog (you know the one about bodies and self -esteem... totally worth checking out) and the simplest post caught my eye.

The title was "You don't have to be pretty", and the only thing written in the body was "you knew that right?" and it linked to the following blog post about pretty.

You must read it. Men seem to get this. Women seem to feel their life must be the total opposite. If you read anything today, read this. (Click the highlighted text). I can't believe how perfectly written this post is. I feel like it is the truth. Everything else the media and world tell you is a lie.

On the Happenings of Tomorrow...

Friday, September 14, 2012

So tomorrow is a big day for me.
Like REALLY BIG.
HUGE.
MONDOLACIOUSLY LARGE!

Why, do you ask? Well I'm getting married tomorrow. I'm really excited this morning and also calm at the same time. This is weird to me because of one thing. I have had anxiety since I was probably 12. ANYTIME a big event was happening in my life, all hell broke loose in my body and I always had to know where the bathrooms were, and also sometimes I'd tell myself over and over I wasn't equipped for change or big life events. I even one time told myself to enjoy a mellow life because it's all I could handle. BOY WAS I STUPID! With a little work, I barely have problems with anxiousness at all anymore, who knew life could be so easy!

SO... that was a tiny derailment, but I'll work my way back.

We're getting married tomorrow, and we're not just getting married until death do we part. We're getting married in the LDS temple in Draper. This means we're together forever. Do you know how long that is? It's, well... FOREVER!  I think this is pretty cool. It's definitely intimidating. I mean what if I'm a royal pain in the butt and not that awesome? Well... we just have to learn to deal which each other's pains in the butts (does that even make sense? Forgive me, I've got pre-wedding exhaustion brain). Also, we have to actually try to work things out and apologize and be better people, and learn compromise and forgiveness... because if we don't, we have to have permission from basically God himself to breakup. Not that I'm even thinking about it. I'm just explaining to y'all how big of a deal this is. We're two very independent people. And we LOVE having things our own way. Joining together could prove to be challenging! Aside from the magnitude of this decision we're making tomorrow, I still am for the most part cool as a cucumber. That's why I'm excited. Never have I felt this calm about something so big happening to me. That is why I know this is the right thing.

And now for our love story... it's fun. And I happen to think it's one of the cooler love stories out there. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but you can decide for yourself.

We met in high school (stop rolling your eyes... we're both 28 right now and have only been together for 2 years... we're not telling THAT kind of a story...but it's still cool if YOU met your loved one in highschool. Just not as long of a story as ours. Ha!).

He was always skating around on those board things. You know, a skateboard?  And he would do tricks in the air, and then come down on the ground sometimes and break things, mostly his bones. Similar story as my brother, and they were friends with each other. We never really talked in high school. We hung out with similar people, he even went to my house once and I went to his. But neither of us really remember too much about each other other than we existed.

I dated his friend the summer of 2002 before I moved to college, and a big group of us went to the Vans Warped Tour together. There are times on that trip where it was just Justin, me, his friend, and justin's girlfriend all hanging out, AND NEITHER OF US REMEMBER EACH OTHER BEING THERE. We know we were together on that trip though because I took a picture of him with another guy. We have no idea why our brains blocked each other out. But I even have a journal entry of him that summer telling off a girlfriend that had left me hanging for like 7 hours without a ride, and then he and some other friends drove me the 20 miles home.

4 years go by. It's now 2006, and Justin calls my cell phone while I'm living in Orem, UT going to college. He says, "Hi Lana, this is Justin LeFevre, do you know who I am?" I said yes... and what followed was an AWESOME hilarious conversation... (no idea who he got my cell # from. I'd only had it for a year and I didn't keep in touch with high school people).

Over the next 4 years we would talk either on the phone or Facebook chat roughly every 6-8 months. Sometimes one of us would initiate conversation during the other person's super rough times, and we'd just flirt and make each other laugh. He'd mention that he wanted to come up from Southern Utah and take me on a date. But I was seeing other people, or in the middle of the worst parts of my anxiety and would just think that was too much pressure. So we never did.

It wasn't until the first week of October 2010, that we actually went on a date. We'd just started our random chatting again. I was in a place where I'd come through my worst breakup and finally felt happy (that one kind of roughed me up for a long while), and I didn't want a boyfriend. He was getting ready to ship off to military training in a few months so he didn't want a girlfriend. He was living in Salt Lake City so there was no long distance drive pressure. I was planning a trip to Italy and France, so we met up at Barnes and Noble and had a short, hilarious first date while I picked out foreign language conversation books. I've never laughed so much and felt so at ease with someone on a first date. I remember going home and just thinking, "I should've done that date sooner, he is so funny!"

Example of his funny antics: People at Barnes and Noble tend to think that it's a library so no one ever talks with normal voices in the store. It's NOT a library, it's a book STORE. Voices can be used. So Justin went behind a shelf and I had no idea where he was. All the sudden I hear this really loud awkward sounding "Mnuh!" And I knew it was him. I've never laughed so hard at the dumbest things, than when we're hanging out.

So we kept getting together. We'd go walk to a pretty pond covered in fall leaves and just chat, or have a coloring contest (I won), or just hangout. One night I was going to leave at 8pm to go back from SLC to my home in Provo (about 30 miles away), and we started talking on his porch. 4 hours later I finally made myself leave. Every night when we first started seeing each other I'd stay up until 2am chatting with him on Facebook. He was working a graveyard shift but just had to sit there mostly and watch people in a group home sleep. So we would chat half the night about anything and everything. It wasn't long before we knew it was more than just a friendship. The week before he left for 9 months of military duty, we dropped the "I love you" bomb to each other, and I decided to wait for him. He got home toward the end of 2011.

The waiting was awful. (Just like Tom Petty says it is.)

But the letters I have from that time I'll keep forever. We spent so much time on the phone that we learned how to fight over nothing. We were just fighting because we couldn't see each other. That's all it was. We also learned more about each other than we would've had we been together that whole time. Now he's been home from duty for about 10 months, and here we are about to get married.

We have for sure had our ups and downs. This year that he's been back from duty has been a true test of his endurance and mine. He's been home, but anything and everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. We're here together though dodging the bullets the universe shoots at us, and our goal is to have a successful marriage. I think we'll be just fine. We made it through so much adversity to this point that we already know what that's like. A lot of people get married before all the adversity hits, and they experience it later wondering how they'll be able to handle it with that person. We already know. So I guess you could consider us the lucky ones.

Wish us luck for tomorrow. And pray for sunshine, and for us to just have a great easy day!

Here are some photos... to go with this post.

And here is a song to go with this post as well... You probably guessed that it's a love song already. But did you guess it was by Old Blue Eyes?  This song will be playing sometime at our reception tomorrow.  This generation had such class. I can never get sick of this song, the instrumental section in the middle makes me want to dance like they did in musicals back in the 50's and 60's.

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW! WEEEEEE!

Wedding/Vacation

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Last week I went to Darron and Shauny's wedding in California. I got to stay with Shauny's family at their house in San Clemente for the week. I loved their house, and staying with them. They are way fun, nice people! And they're so welcoming! Their house was a block or so from the beach, it was awesome! Shauny was pretty busy finishing up on the final wedding stuff, so I borrowed a beach cruiser and rode around the neighborhood, then spent some time alone at the beach. I LOVE just sitting and watching the ocean. It's so relaxing. I need to move there so I can do that every week!

Darron, Shauny, and I went to see the movie Prom Night. And we were the only ones in the theater! It was way fun. Shauny got really scared and thought Darron looked like the killer from the movie. It was hilarious! Their wedding turned out great on Friday, and Shauny looked amazing! I knew she would, she's so pretty. It was in the San Diego temple. My favorite one! It is such a beautiful temple.

Then Saturday I went to the beach again with her family and she was off to her honeymoon in Cancun with Darron! How fun! Saturday was a great day at the beach, only something went wrong with my sunscreen and I got a really severe sunburn everywhere I put it! It looks pretty funny with all the crazy lines. There's even the shape of a playboy bunny on my upper back. It's really strange! Apparently I don't know how to rub it in evenly. Also, I guess sunscreen can separate and go bad. I didn't know so I pretty much turned my back and legs into an oily bullseye for the sun! It's finally starting to feel better, and I'm going to be tan, so I guess there's something positive from it! haha! I'm just waiting for my peeling to start. Peeling is so gross! Here are some pictures from the trip.

Alone at the beach. Had to take it myself.
Shauny took her bridals here.

I love this shot. I snuck one while her photographer was adjusting her camera! Haha!
Same Beach.

Took this from Shauny's yard on my last night there. GORGEOUS!
